Efficient bookkeeping is not only a legal requirement but also the basis for effective finance management.  What information must be collected, recorded and retained to comply with the Australian Taxation Office? What bookkeeping method suits your business? How can the information also be utilised to monitor how well your business is performing?
 
This session provides information about setting up and maintaining an efficient bookkeeping system suitable for your business.  Topics covered include what transactions should be recorded, providing for taxation and activity statement requirements.
 
Brendan Hatswell is a qualified accountant and lectures at Chisholm Institute of TAFE.
